Confidence in Ukraine's future is being built today: Activitis on its partnership with UNITED24 and the role of business during the war

On August 21, the 3rd UNITED24 MODE summit took place in Kyiv, dedicated to the fourth anniversary of the UNITED24 state fundraising platform. Activitis, which has supported the platform since 2023, joined the summit as a long-term partner, and the company's owner and shareholder, Kostiantyn Zhukovskyi, became a speaker on the "Antarctic Dream" panel.

The summit was opened by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The event brought together donors, partners, ambassadors, and friends of Ukraine from various countries. In over four years, UNITED24 has raised nearly $4 billion to support the country and has become a platform that unites the state, international partners, business, and people from all over the world.

Activitis joined the support for UNITED24 in 2023—one of the first among Ukrainian businesses. Since then, the partnership has become much more for the company than just supporting individual initiatives. It is based on shared values, trust, and the understanding that in wartime, business must not only continue to operate but also use its own expertise and resources where they can be most useful.

"For us, choosing UNITED24 was a completely conscious decision in 2023. We realized that we are good at certain things. And if our expertise and help are enough to support the people who unite the state, international partners, business, and people from all over the world, if we can be useful to this team—we must be useful. I sincerely believe that this decision was absolutely right," noted Kostiantyn Zhukovskyi, owner and shareholder of Activitis.

One of the special stories of this partnership was the "Antarctic Dream" of Valeriia "Nava" Subotina and Mariia "Gerda" Chekh—defenders of Mariupol who went through Azovstal and spent about a year in Russian captivity.

Even during the defense of Azovstal, Nava wrote to Ukrainian polar explorers about her dream of seeing Antarctica. Later, while in captivity, this thought helped her hold on and imagine life after release. When the dream became a reality, Nava invited her sister-in-arms, Gerda, to share the journey.

Together with UNITED24 and platform ambassador Scott Kelly, Activitis supported their Antarctic expedition.

This story is about much more than a journey. It is about the courage to make plans again and allow oneself to dream after an extremely difficult experience. At the same time, Nava and Gerda became a Ukrainian voice in the world, having the opportunity to speak to an international audience about their experience and the strength of Ukrainians.

The "Antarctic Dream" panel at UNITED24 MODE was dedicated to this very story. Valeriia "Nava" Subotina, Mariia "Gerda" Chekh, and Kostiantyn Zhukovskyi joined the conversation. The panel was moderated by Olena Kovalska, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

For Activitis, this story directly resonates with how the company sees the role of business in Ukraine today.

In the fifth year of the full-scale war, a functioning business is much more than economic activity. It means jobs, investments, preserved teams, new projects, and the ability of people to continue building their lives in Ukraine.

"For 13 years, we have been creating opportunities for business. Business creates opportunities for people, and people gain confidence in their future. And I believe that this is the highest evaluation of our activity," emphasized Kostiantyn Zhukovskyi.

Today, this thesis takes on a broader meaning. For Activitis, Ukraine's recovery is not a process whose start can be postponed until the end of the war. Its foundation is being formed now: in the ability of companies to work and invest, of entrepreneurs to develop their own businesses, and of people to link their plans with Ukraine.

"Ukraine's recovery must happen here and now. Recovery begins with restoring people's confidence in the future. Only when people understand and feel that they can plan their future in Ukraine today will real recovery begin," noted Kostiantyn Zhukovskyi.

The partnership between Activitis and UNITED24 continues this logic on another level—uniting competencies, resources, and people around initiatives important to the country.

After all, Ukraine's future does not start "after." It is being created today—by business decisions, the strength of partnerships, and the people who continue to build, plan, and dream here.
